Tumescent liposuction is one of many techniques available to liposuction surgeons today. It differs from other forms of liposuction by the type of anesthesia used. The surgery is performed with the patient under local anesthesia, rather than general anesthesia.

Tumescent literally means “swollen.” When tumescent liposuction is performed, a diluted local anesthetic is injected into subcutaneous fat, making it firm and swollen. A capillary constrictor called Epinephrine is also injected to reduce bleeding. The site of the liposuction becomes numb and eliminates the need for a general anesthetic. Fluid is delivered by subcutaneous injection so an IV is unnecessary. The patient is conscious but comfortable during the procedure.

Once the body part is numb, the surgeon makes a very small incision and inserts a steel tube called a cannula under the skin to extract the fat and contour the body.

Tumescent liposuction has several benefits over liposuction performed under general anesthesia. Most importantly, there are fewer risks associated with local anesthesia. There have never been any deaths linked to tumescent liposuction.

Secondly, the patient recovers more quickly after surgery from local anesthesia. There is no prolonged period in a recovery room. The patient can walk out of the surgery facility soon after surgery is completed.

Tumescent lipo tends to result in faster healing with less bruising and bleeding.

The patient is awake and able to move to give the doctor better access to the areas on which he is working. The better access he has, the better job he can do of contouring the body.

Pure tumescent liposuction is a specialty of Dr. David Amron. It is called pure because it targets only fat, not the surrounding tissue. This technique leads to superior results, a shorter recovery time, and fewer risks to the patient.

Liposuction is the surgical removal of specific fat deposits from underneath the skin. It is not for everyone but it can yield excellent results when performed by an experienced specialist.
To be considered a good candidate for lipo, you should be in good overall health. People with health problems that could cause complications should not consider elective surgery. Respiratory problems, for example, may increase the risks of anesthesia. Before doing the surgery, your surgeon will need to know your medical history.

Good candidates should be close to their ideal weights. Liposuction is not intended for weight loss. It is a method of contouring the body’s shape by removing stubborn fat deposits. If you need to lose a large amount of weight, there are a number of bariatric procedures that are designed for that purpose.

Ideally, you should not have had multiple previous lipo surgeries to the same body parts. Surgery becomes more complicated every time it is repeated because scar tissue may develop underneath the skin. Scar tissue is harder for the surgeon to contour and the skin may not appear as smooth as it would if this were the first time surgery was performed on the area.

A good candidate for this type of surgery should be realistic in his or her expectations. Lipoplasty, as it is also called, makes improvements to the body. It can give the body a slimmer, more toned appearance by removing excess fat that covers up muscle definition. However, it cannot create muscle definition. Lipo is no substitute for a healthy lifestyle, complete with regular exercise.

If you are ready to learn more about liposuction, set up a a complimentary onsultation with Dr. Amron at his Beverly Hills office.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure designed to eliminate stubborn excess fat from the body. It is no substitute for diet and exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but lipo can remove those final stubborn inches.

Liposuction is appropriate for people who are close to their ideal weights. Despite healthy eating habits and regular exercise, many people struggle with stubborn fat deposits. These pockets of fat are hereditary or due to age, which makes them extremely difficult – if not impossible – to remove by conventional means.

It is important to note that liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, like bariatric surgery. Lipo is intended to remove relatively small amounts of fat from specific areas of the body. The thighs, hips, abdomen, arms, and chin are all common body parts that people have refined with liposuction.

When the fat deposits are gone, the body can appear slimmer and more toned. Clothes may fit better with fewer bulges and bumps. Actual weight loss may be minimal but the procedure may remove inches. For individuals with a pear shape or an imbalanced body, liposuction can help even out the body. Many women gain excess weight on their bottom halves, especially later in life. Liposuction can remove those excess inches and give patients sleeker, slimmer bodies.

You are a good candidate for liposuction if you are in overall good health and you are close to your ideal weight. A healthy lifestyle is important since you should maintain your weight after surgery. When you look at liposuction as a way to refine the body, you can approach the surgery with realistic expectations.

When you are ready, set up a consultation with Dr. Amron for more information on the procedure and what you can expect.

Body contouring is another term for liposuction and it is a great way to describe what the procedure accomplishes. Liposuction removes fat deposits from specific areas of the body. By selectively removing fat, the surgeon is in effect contouring the body. The patient’s body may have a more pleasing shape because bulges of fat have been removed from trouble spots.
Liposuction is not like overall weight loss. When a person drops weight, the body parts that held excess fat still have more fat than other areas of the body. The body contours do not change with weight loss.

With liposuction, only specific fat deposits are targeted. These fat deposits influence a person’s shape. When they are gone, the body contours look different. For example, a woman with excess fat on her hips may have a pear shape. She will still be pear-shaped if she loses weight. However, if she has liposuction to remove the excess fat from her hips, she can change her body shape. That’s the difference between weight loss and body contouring.

Liposuction is designed to remove fat deposits that occur because of age or heredity. To a large extent, body shape is predetermined and no amount of exercise can remove hereditary fat. People may develop excess abdominal fat or arm fat with age. Exercise may improve the body’s appearance but it may not get rid of isolated fat deposits. That’s where body contouring can help.

Think of liposuction as a way of improving upon the body, not completely changing it. Precise fat removal by an experienced surgeon can reshape the body’s contours and provide a more pleasing silhouette.

Coolsculpting by Zeltiq is a procedure designed to reduce fat in the body by cooling fat cells until the body disposes of the unwanted fat. This is a nonsurgical procedure aimed at reducing localized fat deposits. Its goal is essentially the same as liposuction but the process is very different.

Zeltiq works by a process called Cryolipolysis. Targeted fat cells are cooled until an inflammatory response is triggered in the body that breaks down the fat cells. The cells are then absorbed by the body and naturally flushed away.

Because Coolsculpting is nonsurgical, it does not require incisions and does not leave scars. Full results may take several weeks to appear. The body gradually disposes of the cooled fat cells. As it does so, the body’s new contours will begin to emerge. Some large fat deposits may require multiple treatments to achieve desired reduction. This procedure may also be used in addition to liposuction to achieve additional body contouring.

On the other hand, liposuction is a surgical procedure during which a cannula is inserted underneath the skin through small incisions. The cannula is moved back and forth to break up fat cells and extract them from the body. One liposuction procedure can remove a significant amount of fat, whereas Coolsculpting takes multiple treatments. Liposuction does result in scars but they are very small and well-hidden. The choice of which procedure to get depends on how much fat reduction you desire and from what areas of the body.

Dr. David Amron is liposuction and revision liposuction specialist. Learn more about both procedures at Expertliposuction.com.

Micro body contouring is another term for mini liposuction. This procedure is performed like regular liposuction, but very small amounts of fat are removed to refine the body shape. By eliminating bulges of fat, the procedure can make a patient’s body appear smoother, more proportionate, and more toned.

Liposuction is also called body contouring because the removal of specific fat deposits changes the contours of the body. Micro body contouring is an apt name because it reflects the small scale of the procedure.

As the name implies, micro body contouring is performed on a small scale. One liter of fat or less is removed and it can be done in an hour or less generally. This procedure is not designed for overall weight loss or large scale fat removal. It is a technique used to refine a patient’s body that is already close to their ideal body weight.

The liposuction surgeon has to know what fat cells to remove from where and how to shape the remaining fat to create a natural appearance. Improper body sculpting can result in asymmetrical results, lumps, or an unnatural transition from the surgery site to the surrounding body. Therefore, it takes a skilled surgeon to successfully perform micro body contouring. Performed well, mini body contouring can yield excellent results.

After mini liposuction, if the patient gains weight, it will be distributed to other parts of the body. Removed fat cells cannot return, so the patient’s body will retain its shape even if the patient does gain weight.

Dr. David Amron is a specialist in mini liposuction and can determine if you are a candidate for this type of surgery.

Yes. The fat freezing procedure is called Coolsculpting by Zeltiq. This is a non-surgical procedure in which fat cells are cooled until they break down and the body disposes of them.
Zeltiq takes advantage of the body’s natural inflammatory response that breaks down cells that have been ultra cooled. The cells are then absorbed by the body and flushed out naturally. This process is called Cryolipolysis. Broken down, “cryo” means freeze and “lipo” means fat.

Coolsculpting works similarly to liposuction in the sense that specific fat deposits are targeted. The freezing procedure is not designed for overall weight loss, but it can break down smaller areas of fat cells to improve the body’s contours.

Coolsculpting by Zeltiq is patented and FDA approved. Multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired results because only a small amount of fat can be treated at a time. Each treatment takes about an hour.

Coolsculpting is best used for refinement of a body that is already at its ideal weight. Most specialists agree that Coolsculpting is not a replacement for liposuction, but it can be used in combination with liposuction to further refine the area. Coolsculpting does not require any incisions.

For more information on Coolsculpting by Zeltiq, visit Expertliposuction.com. Prospective patients can schedule a consultation to discuss their options and goals with liposuction specialist Dr. David Amron.

Cheek liposuction is a procedure designed to remove excess fat from the face. It can reduce the fullness of cheeks and jowls to give the face a thinner appearance. Removal of this extra fat can create a more defined jaw line, more prominent cheekbones, and an overall thinner looking face.

The cheeks and overall shape of the face are often dictated by genetics. Therefore, round cheeks are sometimes resistant to dieting and exercising. Often, the only way to reduce the size of cheeks is to remove the excess fat surgically.

To perform cheek liposuction, local anesthesia is injected into the face and a very small cannula, only 1.5 millimeters wide or smaller, is inserted underneath the skin. The surgeon then moves the cannula back and forth to break up and extract fat cells into a vacuum. The tiny incisions will virtually disappear as they heal. After surgery, there will be swelling and discomfort but it will resolve in a few days.

Facial liposuction is a delicate procedure because the surgeon must take care not to remove too much fat from either cheek. Doing so can result in unnatural looking results or asymmetrical results. It is important that the surgeon achieve balance and symmetry between both sides of the face. The chin, cheeks, and neck must also blend seamlessly so there is no noticeable difference between the areas that were treated with liposuction and the untouched areas. A specialist in facial liposuction can determine how much fat to remove to give the patient natural-looking, well-blended results.

Cheek liposuction does not tighten the skin like a facelift can. The removal of fat from underneath the skin can cause the skin to tighten on its own due to elasticity. Younger patients will have more elastic skin than older patients. It is recommended that liposuction be performed at a younger age to take advantage of the skin’s elasticity.

Butt Liposuction is a good option when you want a more attractive butt.

Butt Liposuction is typically not performed directly on the butt. Liposuction is performed around the buttock —to remove the excess fat from the outer hips, thighs, and upper thigh which is often called the banana roll. The next fact you need to understand is that you need good muscle tone to get the attractive butt you want. No amount of Butt Liposuction can give you that good muscle tone, you will need to build that muscle tone through exercise, which can be as simple as leg lifts or walking. If you do not build good muscle tone in your butt, a Butt Liposuction will simply remove the fat and your buttocks will simply flatten and drop, which is not the look you want.

When you are considering Butt Liposuction, it is important to choose a highly skilled experienced surgeon. The butt is an area that is prone to dimpling and if Butt Liposuction is performed improperly you can end up with a dimpled surface and that is also not the look you want.

Dr. David Amron has a world-wide reputation as one of the best liposuction surgeons available. He has performed thousands of Butt Liposuctions and can let you know if you are a good candidate for Butt Liposuction. You can also see before and after pictures of his work on his website http://www.expertliposuction.com/

Dr. Amron offers a free phone consultation just call 310.275.2467 or you can schedule a consultation from his website.

The first thing you need to consider is that there are Liposuction Risks. Liposuction is a surgical procedure where the liposuction surgeon makes incisions in the skin and sucks out fat. Like any other surgery there are risks. That said, liposuction procedures have improved over the years and it has gotten safer and safer. This is because highly skilled liposuction surgeons are available who understand the risks and work hard to ensure their patient’s safety and well being.

Other Liposuction Risks involve the outcome of the procedure. Unless your liposuction surgeon understands the behavior of fat in the body, along with your body’s proportion and the condition of your skin elasticity you can end up with less than desirable results.
